Monthly Savings Details
The Monthly Savings Details report provides a granular, test-stage-level view of your optimization results for a specific month. While the high-level report shows the "what," the Details page shows the "where," allowing you to identify exactly which test stages and applications are driving your team's efficiency.
Navigation
Click on any specific month's row in the primary Monthly Savings Report table.
Note: The navigation breadcrumb at the top (Test Optimization / Monthly Savings Report / Details) allows you to quickly jump back to the high-level annual view by clicking on the 'Monthly Savings Report' segment.
Page Controls & Status
At the top of the page, you can manage your view using the following controls:
Month Dropdown: Switch to a different month's distribution without leaving the page. Only months containing optimization data will appear in this list.
Status Tag:
Pending: Indicates the current calendar month is still active and data is being updated in real-time.
Final: Indicates the month has concluded and the data is locked for reporting.
Detailed Savings Table
The table displays every test stage, whether it’s tied to a specific app (Bounded) or a general suite (Unbounded). To keep the view clean, we’ve organized the metrics into two categories:
1. Core Time Metrics (Default View)
These columns show you the literal time reclaimed for your developers and CI/CD pipelines.
Test Stage & App: Identifies the specific testing environment and the application it belongs to (if applicable).
Original Time: The total time required to run your full suite without optimization
Actual Time: The time spent running only the "smart" subset of tests selected by SeaLights.
Saved Time: Original Time minus Actual Time.
Time Savings Rate: Your efficiency score, the percentage of time saved compared to a full run.
2. Test Volume Metrics (Customizable)
Using the Customize button, you can toggle these columns to see the volume of tests being optimized:
Test Counts (Original/Actual/Saved): See the total number of tests in your suite versus how many were actually executed or skipped.
Test Savings Rate: The percentage of the total test suite that SeaLights safely skipped.
Managing Your Insights
Tailor Your Report
Every stakeholder cares about different numbers. Use the Customize menu to show the columns that matter most to your team. Your layout is saved automatically for your next visit.
Search & Filter
Use the search bar and filters to quickly isolate specific applications or high-priority testing stages. This is particularly useful for large organizations with dozens of active pipelines.
Share Your Success
The Export as CSV button allows you to download your full optimization data (a spreadsheet containing all data from the table, including any columns you currently have hidden.). This is perfect for inclusion in monthly business reviews or internal productivity presentations.
